OUR ADOPTION PROCESS

Here’s exactly how it works—no surprises, no guesswork.
We know bringing home a puppy is a big decision. At Brinton Goldens, we’re here to walk you through every step and make sure you feel confident, prepared, and excited. From the first message to go-home day (and beyond), we’re with you.

Step 1: Apply

Fill out our Puppy Application.
This helps us get to know you, your lifestyle, and what kind of temperament would be the best match for your home. It’s not a test—just a chance for us to understand your goals and expectations.

Apply Now

Step 2: Let’s Chat

We’ll review your application and reach out.
If we feel like it’s a good fit, we’ll send you more info on upcoming litters and answer any questions you have. This is a great time to ask about timing, training, and our process.

Step 3: Reserve Your Spot

Once you're ready, we’ll send our deposit agreement.
A $300 deposit holds your spot on our waitlist. Deposits go toward the final purchase price and are non-refundable, but always transferrable to future litters if needed.

Step 4: Puppy Updates Begin

Once your litter is born, the fun really starts.
You’ll receive weekly photo updates, developmental milestones, tips, and behind-the-scenes peeks. We raise our puppies with Puppy Culture, ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation), and ESI (Early Scent Introduction) from day 3.

Step 5: Matching Time

At 7 weeks, we conduct Volhard temperament testing.
We use this to help guide placement and match puppies based on personality, energy level, and your lifestyle—not just pick order. You’ll receive a detailed profile on your puppy and we’ll talk through the match together.

Step 6: Go-Home Day

Puppies go home at 8 weeks.
You’ll receive a go-home folder, food recommendations, training tips, and all the essentials. If you’re flying, we can help coordinate a flight nanny or travel options—just ask!

Step 7: Lifelong Support

You’re not just getting a puppy—you’re joining our Brinton Goldens family.
We offer lifetime support and take responsibility for every puppy we bring into the world. We’re here for training advice, nutrition tips, or just a place to share cute updates. Once a Brinton puppy, always a Brinton puppy.
