OUR PROGRAM
We strive to raise the best dogs and puppies. We follow a strict program to make that possible. It takes time and commitment but we are up for the challenge! We follow the GRCA, AKC, and OFA guidelines. We are always looking to improve, learn, and better ourselves.

Here is an overview of what our program looks like!
How We Do Things
1.
Healthy Lifestyle
From the day we welcome a new puppy into our home, we focus on giving them the best. Including diet, exercise, socialization, training and affection. Our dogs are our family first, so we treat them that way.
2.
Health Testing
Before any of our dogs are even considered to be added to our breeding program they must pass all health testing recommended by the GRCA. This includes OFA Hips, OFA Elbows, OFA Advanced Cardiac, OFA CAER, OFA Patella, & OFA Dentition. We also do PennHip and a full genetic panel through Embark. If you would like more information on what these test are visit our TESTING page.
3.
Playing Matchmaker
Once our dogs pass their testing and we have decided to add them to our breeding program, the real pressure is on. Finding a match that complements ours and is fully health tested is a must. We looks at pedigree, temperaments, titles, COIs, and everything in-between before we make a decision on what stud would work best for our females. We want very well bred puppies so we take our matchings seriously. You can see our upcoming litters HERE.
Before our females are bred, we start them on supplements to aid in reproductive health and start a pregnancy off on the best foot possible. We do a confirmation ultrasound around 30 days from first tie. Once pregnancy is confirmed we make sure to continue to provide a high quality diet and daily exercise. As pregnancy progresses we continue to add more protein into their diet and lower the intensity of they exercise.
A week or so before they are due we move them into our whelping and puppy room so they feel comfortable. We have a bed in the whelping room and baby monitors so there is always supervision and help near. At the first signs of early labor we give our sweet girls a nice bath, trim up the hair on their belly, and trim their nails, and have lots of bone broth & raw goats milk on hand. Making sure mama is ready to welcome her babies.
4.
Healthy Pregnancy and
Prenatal Care
It's finally here! Puppies are coming! This is one of my favorite days! We are always close by any time a litter is being born, we let mama call the shot. Sometimes they want us right in the box with them helping, and other times they would rather be a little secluded. Either way, we are watching and ready to help at any point. We make sure all airways are clear, that puppy is eating, and is staying warm. We have an incubator and nebulizer if they need a little extra help. Our vet is also just a phone call away. We all work hard to have a healthy mama and healthy puppies.

Whelping
6.
Postnatal Care
Healthy mama means healthy puppies! We want to keep her comfortable and increase milk supply as much as possible. We do a mix of raw food and kibble and offer raw goats milk as often as she wants it. We make sure mom has a place to go that isn't in the whelping box, but close enough that she can see them, so she can have a break. When she's ready we start taking her on walks and very light exercise. Helping her heal quickly.
7.
Newborn Care
Puppies are all here and we are on cloud 9! We shower the pups with love and attention. We weigh them twice a day to make sure they are always growing. We have supplies ready to bottle or tube feed. We keep our whelping room nice and warm and the puppies are monitored around the clock for the first few weeks.
8.
ENS & ESI
From days 3 - 16 we do daily Early neurological stimulation and early scent introduction with each puppy. Doing this exposes the puppies to small amounts of stress and different scents to help build stronger neurological pathways. This helps create confident, easily trainable, and well mannered puppies.
9.
Puppy Culture
Puppy rearing is so important. We have chosen to use the Puppy Culture system to make sure we raise the best puppies. It helps with temperament, potty training, basic obedience and so much more. Following this system makes the adjustment from us to their forever home easier on everyone. You can learn more about Puppy Culture here.
I don't know about you, but our life is crazy and sometimes hectic. Our dogs are in on the ride with us! Attending kids sporting events, camping trips, home renovations, and everything else. It's important our dogs can handle it. We start desensitization with our puppies early. We have a TV in the puppy room that plays fireworks, construction, hair dryers, kids playing and so many other sounds. We take them for car rides, do water therapy, trim their nails weekly. We try and do everything we can to make sure they are very well adjusted.
10.
Desensitization
My goal is for our puppies to meet at least 100 people (safely) before they leave us. I want to make sure they have met people of all ages, races, heights, genders, ect. We take them to work with my husband and into my hair salon, we have play dates with the neighborhood kids, and of course family is always ready to come visit. They are very loved and socialized before they leave us. 100 people may seem like a lofty goal, but with puppies this cute it is never a challenge.
11.
Socialization
12.
Puppy Nutrition
These babies need to keep growing! We make sure they are always growing and improving, and if needed we supplement their feedings with raw goats milk. Once they are about 4 weeks we introduce them to goats milk in a pan so they can learn how to lap up liquids. We slowly incorporate kibble and raw meat into their diets. Our puppies still feed off mom for at least 6 weeks. They are completely weaned by 8 weeks and ready to go home on high quality large breed puppy kibble. Feel free to ask us for a list of our favorite brands of kibble and raw foods.
13.
Temperament Testing
Choosing a puppy is so much more than just finding the darkest one or fluffiest. You're choosing a companion for 10+ years. Your puppy needs to be the best fit for you and your lifestyle. That's why we rely heavily on temperament testing for placement of our puppies. We currently use Volhard Temperament testing methods. This helps us see how our puppies will react in certain situations and helps us see their drive and energy levels. This helps us determine what puppies would do best with a family, or as a working or service dog. One with lots of energy might not be the best fit for an elderly couple, but another puppy with lower drive may be great for them. This helps us match you with your perfect pup!
14.
Crate Training
Crate training = safe training. We think a crate is one of the most important tools you can have when raising a puppy. We start crate training early. We introduce the crate in the puppy area so they have time to check it out and become comfortable. Starting at 5 weeks we have every puppy have daily solo crate time. Making the transition home so much easier.
15.
Potty Training
Potty training might be one of the most frustrating parts of owning a new puppy. We do everything we can to start this process for you. We introduce a potty area and litter box when the puppies become mobile and then continue to work with them to try and master signals to let us know they need to go outside. They won't be perfect, but it definitely gets you off on a good foot!
Puppies are so smart and pick up on training quickly! We like to use that to our advantage and start obedience training as early as possible. We work on sit, gently taking a treat, no, leash training, luring and retrieving, and lots of other things. They will be quick to impress everyone they meet.
16.
Obidence Training
Before our puppies leave us we take them to our vet for a check up, vaccinations, and clearance to go home. We will send home paperwork from our vet letting you know they are healthy! We have a great relationship with our veterinarian and talk with him often with any questions or concerns.
17.
Vet Clearance & Vaccines
18.
Ready For Forever Home
Once the puppies have turned 8 weeks and have had their vet clearances, they are ready to go home! We send our puppies home with everything they may need, including a bag of food, blanket that smells like mom, treats, toys, all their paperwork and a bunch of other fun things!
19.
Health Guarentee
20.
Lifetime Breeder Support
We offer a 2 year limited health guarantee for all of our puppies. You can find it in our contract!
We take responsibility for our puppies for life! You are welcome to contact us with any questions or concerns at any time. We are here to help, always. We also will take any of our puppies back at any time. We never want them to be in a bad situation, homeless, or in a shelter. We are committed to them, forever.
