Guardian Homes A guardian home is a carefully selected family who raises one of our breeding dogs as their own, while we retain breeding rights for a limited period of time. The dog lives full-time with the guardian family as a loved, spoiled family member, not in a kennel, not in rotation, not shared. When the dog has completed their breeding commitment, typically one to four litters depending on the individual dog, they are spayed or neutered and officially signed over to the guardian family at no cost. They were always yours. On paper just catches up later. Why We Use Guardian Homes We believe dogs deserve to live real lives. Guardian homes allow our breeding dogs to grow up in homes, not kennels, experiencing everyday life, kids, routines, couches, road trips, and all the normal things that make a dog emotionally sound and well-adjusted. This produces better temperaments, better confidence, and better family companions. From a breeding standpoint, guardian homes also allow us to maintain a diverse, high-quality breeding program without overloading our own home or compromising quality of care. It keeps our program ethical, intentional, and sustainable. This is how we prioritize the dogs first. Always. What Guardian Families Receive A top-quality Golden Retriever at no purchase cost A dog raised to our standards with health testing, structure, and temperament in mind Ongoing support, guidance, and partnership from us for the life of the dog A clear, written agreement outlining expectations on both sides Guardian families are not customers. They are partners. Our Responsibility vs. Yours We cover all breeding-related expenses. That includes health testing required for breeding, progesterone testing, breeding costs, pregnancy care, and spay or neuter once the breeding commitment is fulfilled. Guardian families are responsible for normal, everyday care, food, routine veterinary care, training, and giving the dog the life every family dog deserves. Everything is outlined upfront. No surprises. No gray areas. Why This Matters We do not believe in mass breeding, kennel-style programs, or treating dogs as inventory. Guardian homes allow us to raise exceptional dogs, place them in loving families, and still maintain the integrity and responsibility of a serious breeding program. It’s better for the dogs. It’s better for the families. And it allows us to continue doing this the right way. If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a guardian home, we’d love to talk and see if it’s a good fit for both of us.
