Embark genetic testing allows us to look far beyond what’s visible on the surface and evaluate the inherited health of our dogs at a molecular level. This testing helps identify whether a dog is clear, a carrier, or at risk for specific inherited diseases. Carriers are not automatically unhealthy dogs, but knowing their status is critical. What Embark Tells Us That Physical Exams Cannot Even the healthiest-appearing dog can carry recessive genetic conditions with no outward signs. These issues can remain hidden for generations until the wrong pairing brings them to the surface. Embark Alongside Other Health Testing Embark does not replace orthopedic, cardiac, eye, or structural health testing. Genetics and physical health are two different pieces of the same puzzle. A dog can be genetically clear and still develop orthopedic issues. A dog can be structurally sound and still carry hidden genetic risks. We use Embark alongside PennHIP, OFA, cardiac evaluations, eye exams, and temperament assessment to build the most complete health picture possible. Health testing isn’t about checking boxes. ABOUT US We’re the Brinton Family. My name is Kelsey, and alongside my husband Robert, we’re raising our three boys, Jeter, Rocky, and Brooks, in a small farming town just outside of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Robert and I were both born and raised in southeast Idaho, and choosing to stay here and raise our family in a close-knit, rural community felt like coming full circle. I grew up with dogs. They were always part of my life, my comfort, and my joy. Dogs have shaped who I am in more ways than I can count. Robert, on the other hand, never had a dog before we got married. He didn’t want one either. But look what love can do. Now he couldn’t imagine life without them. We breed Golden Retrievers with a clear purpose: to create exceptional family companions and dogs suited for service and support work. I’ve seen firsthand the profound difference the right dog can make in a family’s life. The confidence they build, the comfort they bring, the steady presence they offer. That joy is something I believe everyone deserves to experience. Raising puppies is more than a job to me. It’s a responsibility I take personally and a role I pour my heart into. Every litter is raised with intention, structure, and an incredible amount of love. From the earliest days through the moment they leave for their forever homes, each puppy is known, nurtured, and prepared for the life ahead of them. This isn’t just breeding dogs. From start to finish, the experience was like a dream. Kelsey spent so much time answering our questions and making sure that our Callie bug was the right fit for our home and our needs. Once we decided on our fur baby, we got videos almost daily of her and her cuteness. They always had her out running and playing! Our fluff ball came so well versed and with such an incredible personality. It was very apparent that they spent a lot of time with these puppies, socializing them and loving on them. She’s a social butterfly no one’s a stranger and that speaks to them on the socialization that they’ve done. It has been such a seamless transition because they worked on crate training and took car rides with her at a young age. They really thought of everything and even sent a care package with food, toys, and a blanket that smelled like her mama to her transition into our house.
